Prior to the closing of Nickie's BBQ, operators of the Beat Church  
and Dividend nights were under investigation by the FTC for having a  
near-monopoly on Thursdays.  After intense antitrust scrutiny,  
deregulation, and restructuring, both nights are back in style at new  
locations.  Nothing is being done, however, to dispel the rumors of a  
coordinated effort to make Thursday the new official start of the  
weekend.  With Neptune appearing at Spring Training a few days ago  
and benchun playing Beat Church tomorrow, it looks as if this  
initiative will only gain momentum into summer.
