:: album recommendations ::

several excellent albums have come out in the last few weeks, and we =
want to turn you on to some truly compelling music.

1. MNO Sleeps - Marimba Sessions. Dub Beautiful favorite MNO has just =
released his deep ambient album. Comprised solely of acoustic marimba =
modified, layered, and transformed. This material debuted on the =
_field_of_drones_ project this past summer and sent OM Festival =
attendees into fathomless depths of consciousness. Most of this album =
is featured on OEM Radio [coming soon! see below...] Available via =
http://www.mnomusic.com/CD's/CD's.html

2. Interchill Records - 13th Moon. We're always hyping Interchill's =
work, but Andrew & Neerav have truly compiled one of the best offerings =
in the "psychedelic downtempo" field. We have seen a flood of =
"psychill" compilations lately, but Interchill have applied their =
mastery of forward-thinking/forward-hearing to the genre and produced a =
comp that is light years ahead of the rest. Includes tracks from Ott, =
Bluetech, Kiwa, Kaya Project, and San Francisco siren Irina. It's =
futile to attempt to put words to this release. Just - get - it. =
Several tracks from this album are featured on OEM Radio. Available via =
http://www.interchill.com

3. Ultimae Records - Fahrenheit Project part 4. The Fahrenheit Project =
is our favorite compilation series. Loathe to stick to one sound or =
genre, the Fahrenheit comps encompass so many different sounds: deep =
ambient, psychedelic downtempo, atmospheric dance, ethno-electronic, and =
world beat. Label co-head Vincent [records as Aes Dana] has put =
together a beautiful masterpiece that will address your aural needs on =
so many different levels. Expect a San Francisco live appearance from =
some of the Ultimae artists in Spring 2004. Available via =
http://www.ultimae.com

4. Trancenden - AlphaBeats. This album isn't out yet, but we're hoping =
this gentle nudging will get Tal Klein's ass in gear. Trancenden will =
be coming at you with a whole new slate of deep and slow breakbeat =
music. Tal's work is definitely the most original and accessible =
underground music we've heard that doesn't sound cheesy. He keeps a =
hard edge on the music, but opens up the sound such that just about =
anyone can dig it. 4 tracks from this album are featured on OEM Radio. =
Go to Tal's site and email him letting him know you're on the hook for =
another excellent album. http://www.trancenden.com

Check out Ambient Airlines http://www.ambientairlines.com. They may be =
carrying some of these releases soon. Not to mention the rest of their =
mind-blowing 150+ album catalogue.

If you're in San Francisco Bay Area, check out their store on 324 Fell =
St. in Hayes Valley. Open on the weekends. They have listening =
stations that plug you in to every single album they carry. =20

OEM Radio will be debuting to the public this month. Quite possibly =
next week. We've got 21 hours of music, totaling 206 tracks! Stay =
tuned.
