Hello dub beautiful fans,

  For a combination of reasons, we have decided to retire Dub Beautiful
Radio soon  (OEM Radio and Psyphy Machine will continue to broadcast).
DBR first aired in 2001 and was one of only a handful of internet radio
stations to broadcast for free on a Shoutcast server.  It was also
unique for its content, recordings of the best performances from our
shows in the SF Bay Area.  DBR was a living archive of the hard work of
those artists and our collective.

  The fact that we played strictly our original recordings and had the
explicit permission of the artists involved is how we survived the
RIAA's attacks on Internet Radio through the inept Copyright Royalty
Board.  Very few stations survived, and most relocated to overseas
servers to avoid the crushing fees or began running advertising. 
However, we were able to continue broadcasting unhindered.

  Dub Beautiful Collective deeply thanks all the artists we've worked
with, the faithful listeners who enjoyed the music and the folks who
sponsor the server space and back-end trickery.

  The stream will be reborn soon with a new mission, new sound and new
energy.  Check back with http://www.dub-beautiful.org for more
information in a few months.
